Arsenal have confirmed they’ve completed the signing of Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi.
The 24-year-old was Arsene Wenger’s number one defensive target and arrives at the Emirates after lengthy negotiations between the Gunners and the La Liga club over the last month.
Injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista forced Wenger into the transfer market but the Gunners were originally reluctant to meet the German’s £41million release clause.
However, the two clubs agreed a deal worth around £35m earlier this week and Wenger’s delighted that the club have got a deal over the line.
