Arsenal’s potential deal for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is now requiring a huge U-turn in other to happen before the transfer window closes in just over a week.
Lacazette has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates stadium after Arsene Wenger’s failed moves for main targets Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain.
With days now remaining in the transfer window, the Gunners are under more pressure than ever to add a new goalscorer to their imminent signing of a centre-back.
However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, has confirmed on Monday that the 25-year-old will not be sold to Arsenal.
“Lacazette will stay with us. I made a mistake last season.” he told RMC
After two goals in Ligue 1 on Friday, the player himself revealed he was bound to remain in France.
“Concerning my personal situation, I do not think there will be a departure from Lyon [to Arsenal]. Everything is going well here.”
