Transfer News: Liverpool deals perfect, Chelsea talks, Arsenal surprise, Man Utd confident

Jurgen Klopp has hailed Liverpool's sales of Jordon Ibe and Brad Smith to Bournemouth this summer as "perfect".

The former Reds duo were sold for a combined total of £21million despite both being on the fringe of the first team at Anfield.

However, both deals included buy-back clauses, meaning the Liverpool manager will keep a keen eye on their south-coast progress.

“Things like this are usually really expensive but these aren’t," Klopp told the Liverpool Echo on Ibe and Smith's Bournemouth transfers. "They were deals that absolutely made sense for both sides.

“We will watch them, they will have pressure there, they will fight for the league or whatever, and we will see them growing up in pressure situations. That’s perfect."

Arsenal are reportedly considering a surprise swoop for Wilfried Bony.

The Manchester City striker has been deemed surplus to requirements by new boss Pep Guardiola.

And with the Gunners in need of firepower up front, theDaily Star claim a £30m bid is being weighed up for the 27-year-old.

Arsenal have failed to land other forward targets such as Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon as yet this summer.

Club chiefs are keen on bringing in Bony but Arsene Wenger is apparently unconvinced.

Manchester United are confident they can sell Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer, according to reports.

The German is not part of Jose Mourinho's plans for the new season at Old Trafford.

And according to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils believe the 32-year-old will be moved on before the transfer window closes.

It is claimed a number of clubs in the Premier League, Serie A and the Bundesliga have made enquiries for Schweinsteiger.
